Tours

There are two ways of visiting HMS Victory - 'Guided Tours' and 'Free flow'.

The type of tours available are dependant on the time of year and staff availability.

Bespoke Guided Tours (subject to staff availability)
These tours are conducted by members of HMS Victory's professional Corps of Guides who will conduct you around all parts of this historic ship. Unfortunately because of the nature of guided tours photography is not allowed. The tours last approximately 45 minutes and include highlights such as:
The Great Cabin
where Admiral Lord Nelson planned the Battle of Trafalgar and wrote his final prayer.
The Quarter Deck
where you will see the spot that Admiral Nelson was fatally wounded; and
The Orlop
where Admiral Nelson spoke his immortal words 'Kiss me Hardy' shortly before he died.
Your guide will bring the Georgian Navy, the Battle of Trafalgar alive.

'Free Flow' Touring
During the dates listed below, HMS VICTORY conducts free flowing tours around the ship. Visitors follow a preset route aided by a comprehensive plan of the ship that explains all the areas of interest. Members of HMS VICTORY's Corps of Guides are on hand to answer your questions and tell their tales. There are also audio-points dotted around the ship which provide more information about important parts of the ship (typed transcripts are available). Photography is allowed on Free Flow tours although flash photography is not allowed of the painting on the Orlop.

Take as long as you like! Free Flow is ideal for those who wish to linger and  breathe in the historic atmosphere.
Dates are subject to change but these are the current plans for the coming year.
