We have services available to support local schools who would like to learn about HMS Victory but who can't manage a trip to see us.
Out & About with HMS Victory
We are offering exciting new outreach visits led by trained guides to help your class learn more about life on board HMS Victory from the comfort of your school. They are also valuable as a follow up visit to help cement what you have learnt.
Workshops last one hour and include object handling and a chance to quiz a ‘Georgian Sailor’ about his life! Discounts are available when you book more than one session! These workshops will be available on Mondays, are subject to availability and must be booked in advance. Schools must be within a 1 hour drive time of HMS Victory.
To book a visit or find out more please contact Mrs Ann Ryder on 023 9272 3111 or Contact Us

A file containing information about the objects, ideas for object handling activities and ideas for lessons is included in the box. The box has been developed in partnership with Portsmouth City Museum and Records and is a fantastic resource for anyone learning about Nelson, HMS Victory or life at sea. It is available FREE OF CHARGE to all Portsmouth City Council Schools and the box can be dropped off at your school and collected again at the end of the loan. Schools out of Portsmouth are very welcome to borrow the box but will need to collect and return it to the Portsmouth City Museum and Records stores. If you would like to borrow the box it will be available from the beginning of 2008. Please Contact Us to find out more about the loans box scheme and the HMS Victory loans box in particular.
