Question of the Week - How fast did HMS Victory go?
The speed that a ship like Victory could sail at was different depending on the wind speed, condition of the ship and other factors. If sailing conditions were ideal HMS Victory could travel at 8 or 9 knots (about 10 miles per hour or 16 km an hour) which doesn't seem very fast but was pretty good for a ship at that time.
